What decides the price
There are no figures on this page. A number quoted before anyone has seen the job would be wrong often enough to be useless, so the operator quotes on the call instead. What follows is what they weigh.

Size and weight

A carcass on open lawn is a lift-and-go. One in an attic means a ladder, a search and insulation coming out with it. One under a deck means somebody on their stomach. Enclosed spaces cost more because they take longer, and the time is hard to predict in advance.
How long it has been there
A fresh carcass leaves little behind. One that has sat for a couple of weeks in a warm crawl space has soaked into what is under it, and that material comes out too, which changes the disposal end of the job.
Access
A locked gate, a dog that has to be shut in, a crawl space hatch nobody has opened in ten years, a field a truck cannot get across in April. Each one adds time, and each one is worth mentioning on the call rather than on arrival.
Distance
Lansing, East Lansing and the first ring of suburbs are routine. A farm lane at the edge of Clinton County is a drive.
